A small town on the south coast has opened its first public library in forty years. The building was once a fishing warehouse, and the old wooden beams are still visible inside. Volunteers spent two summers repairing the roof and painting the walls. On the first day, more than three hundred people came to borrow a book. The mayor said that the town had waited a long time for this moment. The library will stay open late on Thursdays for evening readers.
